Research Day

Annual UBC Skin Research Day (Sat. Mar. 2, 2024)

Skin Research Trainee Half-Day Workshop – Thursday, April 18, 2024

research-dayEach year the UBC Department of Dermatology and Skin Science hosts the Skin Research Day during which original papers on a variety of topics including skin cancer, hair, immunology, photobiology, genomics, wound healing and educational research are presented. The integration of multiple health profession groups (medical, nursing) and trainees at different levels is a major strength of this event. The UBC Skin Research Day is an interactive program that includes participation by medical students, graduate students, residents, fellows, nurses, scientists, clinical investigators, clinical research assistants, dermatologists and faculty in a highly collegial atmosphere.

Objectives

  • To provide a forum for the discussion of new concepts in skin biology and their relevance to clinical care.
  • To review current concepts in cutaneous pathophysiology and therapy, and their application to clinical care.
  • To share knowledge through interactive group discussion pertaining to the interpretation and design of basic and clinical studies.
